Welcome to The Loaf.

Our naturally fermented bread - sourdough - is the healthiest and most nutritious alternative to mass produced conventional bread.

Our sourdough bread is made from stone-ground flour, pure and unprocessed salt, natural yeasts and bacteria and time, kneaded by hand and baked in our WOOD FIRED brick oven.

We endeavour to exclusively use local products; stone-ground flour from the Western Cape, pure salt from a mine in the Kalahari - Northern Cape, sun-dried black olives from the Eastern Cape to name just a few.

Our bread is 100% natural: no additives, no preservatives and no chemicals.

Our breads are recommended for people who are involved in high-level sports, dieting, diabetics, lactose intolerant, have digestive problems, candida sufferer, strict vegetarian or are allergic to flavouring agents, preservative or industrial yeast used by most bread manufacturers.

Our breads are low GI, industrial yeast free, fat-free, lactose-free, sugar-free and egg-free.
